Third COVID-19 case in a week confirmed at TVDSB

A third case of COVID-19 has been reported in as many days at the Thames Valley District School Board.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) identified Monday a positive case at Northbrae Public School in London.

This confirmed case comes after two were identified within the school board over the weekend. The first was at Eagle Heights Public School in London, the second was at South Ridge Public School in Tillsonburg.

As is the case at the other two schools, the school board took steps to notify anyone who may have had contact with the positive individual.

"MLHU is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying the individual’s close contacts and following up directly to provide specific testing advice," read a statement posted on the board's official website. "Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and Northbrae Public School remains a safe place to attend school."

Northbrae will be open Tuesday for classes as usual, and school buses will run.

The latest information on how the COVID-19 outbreak is being handled at the TVDSB can be found on its website.
