Dream Lottery sells out in record time

The draw date for the Dream Lottery has been moved up after the fall edition of the semi-annual sweepstakes sold out in record time.

The last ticket was snapped up on Thursday, just 28 days after the lottery launched. That breaks the previous sellout record of 34 days, which was set this past spring.

The pot for the 50/50 also surpassed its previous $1.26 million record. The winner of that prize gets half of the total jackpot.

“Our community has done it once again by strongly supporting the Fall Dream Lottery which sold out in record time, and by making the 50/50 jackpot among the largest in the lottery’s history,” Michelle Campbell., president and CEO St Joseph’s Health Care Foundation, said in a statement.

The Dream Lottery has raised nearly $42 million for the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care London since 1996. The money is used to fund research and buy much needed cutting-edge equipment.

This time around there are five grand prize options to choose from including two luxury homes valued at more than $1-million each, a backyard makeover with landscaping and a pool, and a lifetime adventure package with a boat, ATVs, trailer and pickup truck.

The grand prize draw has now been pushed up from January 7 to December 10.
