Charges laid after replica handgun seized

A 23-year-old London man is facing charges after a man armed with what appeared to be a gun was seen outside of an east-end coffee shop.

A citizen told London police they saw a man get out of a vehicle with three other people in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons on Adelaide Street North near Oxford Street around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday. The man then approached a pickup truck while holding a gun.

A description of the suspect and the suspect vehicle were given to police. Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description on Oxford Street and arrested a suspect.

A replica handgun was also seized.

A London man, 23, is charged with pointing a firearm and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence. He is scheduled to appear in London court on January 29.
