A day after police swarmed a normally quiet London street looking for a man with a gun, charges have been laid.
According to London police, the incident began around 9:30 a.m. Monday when a man on an e-bike got into an argument with a male acquaintance in the area of Wharncliffe Road and Stanley Street. The e-bike driver left the area briefly, only to return soon after with what was believed to be a gun. He got into a second argument with the man before leaving the area again.
Police were called and given a description and possible location of the man with the gun. Officers, including those with the police service's emergency response unit, closed off Stanley between Wharncliffe Road and Perry Street as they searched for a suspect.
A man was arrested around 10:40 a.m and a search of a Stanley Street home turned up a pellet gun, three airsoft rifles, ammunition for a long gun and handgun, and an airsoft handgun magazine clip.
A 33-year-old London man is charged with one count of possession of a weapon.
