Human trafficking suspect faces 23 additional charges

A wanted man is facing nearly two dozen additional charges in relation to an investigation by the London Police Service Human Trafficking Unit.

On Tuesday afternoon, London police announced that Jordan Hawke, 28, was further charged with 23 offences as a result of historical incidents recently reported to police.

The additional charges include:

-Three counts of advertising another person’s sexual services -Two counts of obtain sexual services for consideration -Two counts of material benefit from sexual services -Two counts of trafficking in persons by recruiting, etc. -Two counts of financial/material benefit/trafficking person over 18 -Procuring/recruit person to provide sexual services for consideration -Financial/material benefit -Procuring/exercising control -Withholding or destroying documents in relation to trafficking person under 18 years of age -Trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years -Obtaining sexual services for consideration from person under 18 years -Material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years -Procuring/recruit person under 18 to provide sexual services for consideration -Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age -Sexual interference with person under 16 years of age -Aggravated assault -Assault

Hawke remains at large and London police are asking for the public's help in finding him. Police describe Hawke as a black male,  6’1” tall, 180 pounds, with short black hair in braids, and a short black beard.

In July, London police charged Hawke with nine offences including assault, causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, trafficking in person, financial trafficking, communicating with a person for the purpose of obtaining sexual services, uttering death threats, material benefit from sexual services, recruit for sexual services, and advertising another person’s sexual services.

The charges stemmed from an investigation into the alleged trafficking of a female victim over the course of 18 months by Hawke, who the victim met when she was 16-years-old.

According to police, Hawke allegedly began to traffic the victim in the sex trade in London and elsewhere in Ontario after she turned 18.

London police believe that there may be other victims. Anyone with information in relation to the whereabouts of Hawke or who suspects someone of being a victim of trafficking is asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
