Ontario's law-enforcement oversight agency is looking into a collision in London that is connected to a robbery in Strathroy.
Strathroy-Caradoc police say shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday, two men robbed the LCBO in Strathroy. According to Strathroy-Caradoc police, the two men entered the outlet, took two bottles of alcohol, then walked out without paying. One of the suspects pulled a knife on an LCBO employee on the way out of the store.
The men were then seen leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed in a 2003 GMC pickup, which police determined had been stolen in London.
Around 2 p.m., London police answered a call about an armed robbery in the area of Jalna Boulevard and Bradley Avenue. While heading to the location, officers were told that the suspects had fled the scene in a pickup truck, which soon became involved in a single-vehicle crash in the area of White Oak Road and Westminster Drive.
Paramedics took three people to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Police confirm the truck is the same one involved in the LCBO robbery.
Police have notified the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which has invoked its mandate.
Anyone with information on this incident should call the SIU at 1-800-787-8529, or submit their tip online.
