Charges have been laid against a 51-year-old woman after an east London convenience store clerk was held up at gunpoint over the weekend.
According to London police, a woman wearing a mask with a hood pulled over her head walked into the Circle K at 2045 Dundas Street East around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday. The woman allegedly pulled out a gun and demanded money from the store's employee.
The woman took off after being given an undisclosed amount of cash.
The store clerk was not physically injured.
Police were called and arrested a woman matching the suspect description nearby. A replica firearm was seized.
A 51-year-old London woman is charged with armed robbery, pointing a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order. The accused was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
