A goat and several chickens were killed when fire tore through a small outbuilding in southwest London Wednesday morning.
The structure used to house the animals in the area of Westminster Drive and Colonel Talbot Road went up in flames shortly after 6 a.m.
"We were getting numerous calls on 911 regarding the fire," said London Fire Department Platoon Chief Kirk Loveland. "Upon arrival, the outbuilding was totally engulfed."
No humans were hurt in the blaze, but the building was destroyed.
Damage is estimated at $50,000.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been electrical.
"From what we encountered that would have been the only source of ignition," said Loveland.
