12-year-old calls 911 on attempted burglar

Police are investigating after a 12-year-old had to call 911 to report that there was a man trying to break into their home east of Tillsonburg.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the youth made the 911 emergency call on Tuesday at around 2:54 p.m., while a man was attempting to gain access to the home on Highway 59 in Courtland. The youth was inside the house at the time, but police have not said if he was home alone.

The 12-year-old told police that the would-be burglar, who was wearing blue jeans and a black leather jacket, drove up to the home on a motorcycle before attempting to get into the home. After the man was unable to enter the house, he left the scene.

The man's motorcycle is described as being all black with saddlebags.
