Strathroy shooting suspect facing more charges

A Strathroy-Caradoc man accused of shooting two men is facing more charges, including attempted murder.

Strathroy-Caradoc police announced on Friday that Alexandre Andre Allie, 25, is now charged with attempted murder with a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of breach of firearms regulation.

He was already facing 19 charges including aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and failure to comply with release order.

The charges stem from an incident in downtown Strathroy on August 9. Two men were shot in an alley behind Frank Street. Both men have since been released from hospital.

Allie was arrested trying to cross into the United States in Fort Erie on August 12. Border police seized a .22 calibre revolver and a quantity of drugs following a search of the vehicle.

A woman who was with him was also taken into custody. Strathroy-Caradoc police said Friday that Amanda Kristine Moore, 34, of Strathroy-Caradoc is now charged with being an accessory after the face.

Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service at (519) 245-1250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com
