A group of experts confirm that a massive storm ahead of the weekend did result in a tornado in Point Clark.
The Township of Huron-Kinloss reported significant property damage from Friday's storm that swept across the region.
Investigators with Western University’s Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) visited the Point Clark area on Saturday to look at some of the damage left behind.
The team verified on Sunday an EF0 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 130 kilometres per hour made a 300 metre path in Point Clark on Friday around 10:15 p.m. The path's width was 80 m.
The NTP team said the tornado came off of Lake Huron.
An EF0 is considered a weak tornado at the lower end of the Enhanced Fujita (EF) Scale.
