Man, woman charged in armed robbery

The second suspected wanted in connection with an armed robbery in the city earlier this month has been arrested.

According to police, on August 17 a woman texted a male acquaintance in hopes of arranging a meeting. The woman picked up another man and continued to send text messages to the male victim, arranging to meet on Dufferin Avenue between Ontario and Quebec Streets.

Police said the victim showed up just after 3 a.m., and he and the woman went to an apartment. A man armed with a shotgun approached the pair and hit the male victim in the head with the end of it, telling him to drop all of his belongings. He also pulled a knife and told the victim to leave.

The victim, who suffered minor injuries, took off and called police.

On August 21, police arrested a female suspect. Crystal Ann Wedemure, 40, of London is charged with armed robbery.

A warrant was issued for 30-year-old Skylar Adam Eagle Speaker of no fixed address. He was arrested on Tuesday night and is charged with armed robbery and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
