Single-vehicle crash claims life near Thamesford

One person is dead and another hurt after a single-vehicle crash east of Thamesford on Monday.

Emergency crews were called to 31st Line between Road 66 and Highway 2 in Zorra Township around 6:50 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was able to get out of the wreckage before help arrived. That individual was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No names have been released.

The section of 31st line was closed for several hours while Oxford OPP probed the cause of the crash. The roadway has since reopened.

The investigation is continuing.
