UPDATE :Severe thunderstorm watch ended

Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm watch for London-Middlesex, Oxford County, and Sarnia-Lambton.

The weather agency issued a watch for the second day in a row Thursday morning warning of scattered thunderstorms that could pack large hail, damaging winds, and torrential rainfall.

Heavy rain exceeding 50 mm in an hour was also possible in some areas.

The weather warning comes as the region has been grappling with a prolonged stretch of hot and humid conditions. Temperatures on Thursday are expected to soar to the mid-to-high 30s but feel like the low 40s due to the humidity.
