A Good Samaritan who found a large amount of money in a private parking lot in St. Thomas is being applauded for handing it over to police instead of pocketing it.
The cash was discovered strewn about a parking lot on Elm Street on Monday night, St. Thomas police said. The exact total hasn't been released, but police indicated it was a "substantial" amount.
The citizen who stumbled upon the lost money collected all of the bills and took them to the police station.
Police are now working to locate the rightful owner of the cash.
