London man charged in murder of woman in Sarnia

A London man is now facing a murder charge after a woman was beaten to death in Sarnia last month.

Owen Clarke, 34, of London was arrested by Sarnia police on Thursday and charged with first degree murder. He is accused of killing Sarah Thwaites. According to Sarnia police, the 29-year-old was the victim of a "vicious assault" in a home near the intersection of Cobden Street and Palmerston Street North on March 13. She was rushed to hospital, but died of her injuries.

After an investigation that lasted roughly six weeks, police arrested Clarke.

Thwaites left behind two young children, twins Farrah and Felix. A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for funeral expenses and financial help for the twins. As of Friday, April 24 it had raised $4,676 of its $10,000 goal.
