Arson charges have been laid against a 39-year-old Norfolk County man accused of setting his own house on fire earlier this week.
Firefighters were called to the home on Concession 6 in Townsend just before 11 p.m. on Monday. They arrived to find the home and a shed engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to douse the flames before they spread to a nearby residence.
A man on the property at the time of the fire told OPP officers he had a gun and ran away. He was quickly tracked down and arrested.
