Lightning zap the Five 122-113

The London Lightning topped the Sudbury Five 122-113 in NBL Canada action on Wednesday.

London held a five-point advantage at the end of the first quarter and increased their lead to 67-56 as the game entered halftime. The Five caught up to London in the third to take a one-point lead with just over five minutes left in the frame, but it was short-lived with the Lightning entering the fourth with a 91-84 advantage. The Lightning held on to their lead in the final frame to win with a nine-point advantage.

Cameron Forte led scoring for London with a game-high 41 points and nine rebounds, while Xavier Moon added another 29 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lightning are back in action at home on Sunday to take on the St. John's Edge at 2 p.m.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
