Charges have been laid against a 36-year-old St. Thomas man after a child reported being sexually assaulted.
An adult whom the child confided in recently notified St. Thomas police about the alleged assault. That prompted detectives with the criminal investigations branch to launch an investigation.
As a result, an unidentified man turned himself in to police on Wednesday. He is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and incest.
The man has been released from police custody and has a future court date.
