Knights trample Rangers 5-1

Connor McMichael led the London Knights to a 5-1 victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Friday.

Luke Evangelista scored the only goal of the first period to put the Knights ahead early, and McMichael scored two back-to-back goals early in the second to bring the Knights' lead to 3-0.   Jonathan Gruden added another goal 12:58 into the second frame, and McMichael completed a hat-trick with another goal with just over four minutes left in the period.

The Rangers made it on the board in the last seven seconds of the game but were only able to prevent a shutout loss.

Knights goaltender Brett Brochu made 32 saves out of 33 shots on net.

The Knights are in Erie on Sunday to face off against the Otters at 2 p.m.
