The City of Windsor and the City of London are among 25 municipalities in Canada that have been selected for a pilot project to address climate change.
The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy Canada selected the municipalities to be part of an intensive program aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“The Global Covenant of Mayors is an ambitious framework. It will help our municipalities take direct action to address the impacts of climate change and reduce their GHG emissions,” said Bill Karsten, president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). “These 25 municipalities are our leaders, and they want to take their climate action further.”
Over the next year, the municipalities will receive technical support, training, networking opportunities, and access to tools and resources to advance their climate change objectives.
