Western Fair back to rock and entertain the masses for another year

One of London's biggest attractions is returning to the city for its 144th year for 10 days of music, food and plenty of midway rides.

The 144th Western Fair will open its gates on Friday and will welcome tens of thousands of people to the Western Fair Grounds. Previous years have brought an average of around 190,000 people to the fairgrounds.

Regional food, drinks and entertainment will be featured at the I LOVE LOCAL tent, which can be found in its new location near the Rectory Street Gate and the Midway. Fair vendors will also be open all 10 days of the event.

This year’s fair will see almost two dozen local bands and performers. Some heavy hitters will also be taking over the grandstand over the course of three days.

Hamilton-based, Nova Scotia-born hard rock quartet The Trews will perform September 10 and Vancouver pop-rock band Marianas Trench takes the stage on September 11.  Trooper and Platinum Blonde will then co-headline the third night of grandstand musical acts on September 12.

With the live concerts shifting back to the grandstand this year, additional stadium-style seating has been constructed for the covered, outdoor venue.

Admission at the gate is $5 for kids, $15 for adults, and $10 for seniors. Prices for the three concerts range in price from $30-$35 and entrance to the fair is included with the price of the concert ticket. Tickets for the fair can also be purchased online by clicking here. Further details about what the Western Fair has to offer can be found by visiting the event's website by clicking here.

The 144th edition of the fair will run until September 15.
