Police seeking sex assault suspect

London police are asking for the public's help as they search for a suspect in a sexual assault investigation.

Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman was in the area of Conway Drive and Ernest Avenue when a man grabbed her from behind, threw her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her. The man ran away when a vehicle approached.

The suspect is described as having a tanned complexion and a muscular build. He was between 5'10" and 6'0" in height, 30-36 years of age, with brown hair styled in a brush cut. He was clean-shaven and had a large tattoo on his right upper arm.

"Residents in the area are encouraged to be aware and alert to any suspicious activity and to call police right away with any concerns," police said in a news release issued Thursday.

The investigation is being handled by the London Police Service's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section.
