Charges laid in downtown stabbing

A 46-year-old London man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing in the downtown on Wednesday.

London police were originally called about a man running into traffic in the area of Horton and Wellington Streets, near Goodwill Industries around 8:40 a.m. When officers arrived they found a 56-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He had run to a nearby business for help.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A suspect in the stabbing was arrested roughly six hours later.

Allen Dale Wolfe, 46, of London, is now charged with aggravated assault, breach of probation, and possession of a Schedule I substance. He is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.

The victim and the accused knew each other, police said.
