Driver killed in collision on Colonel Talbot Road

London police have confirmed that the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash Thursday has died.

Investigators say it happened around 11:40 a.m. on Colonel Talbot Road between Littlewood Drive and Decker Drive, near Highway 401. Police said the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

That stretch of Colonel Talbot Road will be closed until later Thursday evening as investigators continue their work. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

The driver's identity is not being released while police notify the next of kin.

Further details will be passed along as they become available.
