One arrested, another wanted after shots fired

A London man has been arrested in connection with gunfire that was heard last Friday in the Westmount area.

London police began investigating after receiving reports of shots ringing out on Hummingbird Crescent near Southdale Road and Wonderland Road. around 1:15 a.m. Bullet casings were found in the area, but there were no reported injuries.

A 21-year-old man arrested several hours after the gunfire has now been charged with being an accessory after the fact to an indictable offence.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Toronto man accused of a number of weapons offences.

Moaied Elfaki, 25, of Toronto is charged by way of warrant with recklessly discharging a firearm, using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate, being in a motor vehicle with a firearm, and failing to comply with conditions of judicial release.

Police are asking anyone who knows of Elfaki's whereabouts to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
