White Oaks Park is looking towards building a permanent multipurpose stage and Ward 12 Councillor Elizabeth Peloza wants to hear your ideas for it.
On Canada Day, July 1st, Councillor Peloza will be in White Oaks Park between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to hear what Londoners envision for the stage.
"I'll be there all Canada Day as I helped plan the event and run it. [I'm] hoping that [we'll] have so many ideas from a diverse section of our community of children and what they'd want to see. If its more outdoor movie nights, the stage will allow for that to happen as well. If there are people maybe wanting a multicultural festival at this end of the city, if it's people wanting an outdoor farmer's market, there would be a space for it. Just so many different potential ideas," said Poloza.
The major park located in the South of London already offers various amenities, but Councillor Peloza insists that a stage offers park goers exciting, permanent experiences.
"The hope is that the stage will provide another venue for people to enjoy the outdoor space. Right now the community council of White Oaks rent a stage every year for Canada Day and if the stage was already there, it would be perfect," she said.
The stage is designed by Zedd Architects and will be constructed by York Developments and their partners, in conjunction with the City of London.
