The London Police Service said the men are accused of approaching undercover officers to obtain sexual services on Thursday in the downtown core. The five were arrested and have been charged with communication for the purpose of obtaining sexual services.
The men range in age from 55 to 79.
They have all been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in a London court at future dates.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
