St. Thomas toddler falls from second storey window

A toddler was rushed to hospital after falling from a second storey apartment window in St. Thomas on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to the apartment on Talbot Street, near Southwick Street after the little girl fell out of the open window to the sidewalk below around 12 p.m.

The toddler, believed to be two or three years old, was climbing on the back of a couch which was against a wall with a window when the incident happened. The window was open, but did have a screen, St. Thomas police said.

The extent of the girl's injuries has not been released.

Police have ruled the incident "accidental."
