Former Scout leader accused of sexually assaulting boy

London police say charges have been laid in connection with alleged sexual assaults that happened in the 1990s.

Police announced Wednesday that officers arrested a 52-year-old London man on Sunday. Chad Ian Tucker is charged with sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual assault. He was released from custody and will appear in court on June 13.

According to police, the allegations stem from alleged sexual assaults involving a young boy between 1990 and 1997.

"During the time of the reported incidents, Tucker was a leader with Scouts Canada and a driver for a para-transit service. During a portion of this time, he was also a first aid/CPR instructor," police said in a statement released Wednesday morning.

Police also said they are concerned there may be more victims that have not reported their abuse to police. According to the London Free Press, Tucker pleaded guilty in 2016 to sexual interference and was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Police are encouraging anyone who may have been a victim to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
