The man tried to stop the theft, but was hit by the vehicle before it took off. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 23-year-old man, of no fixed address, is now charged with robbery, theft of vehicle, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, and operating a vehicle while prohibited.

The man was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Wednesday.
