Woman abducted by attacker hiding in backseat of vehicle

A frightening urban legend came true for a Norfolk County woman who was abducted by someone hiding in the back seat of her vehicle.

The Ontario Provincial Police said between 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and 12:11 a.m. on Monday, the woman was driving her vehicle in the Port Dover area when a male attacker emerged from the backseat of her vehicle.  The woman was forced to drive to an undisclosed area in Norfolk County where she was physically assaulted and suffered minor injuries.

Police were then contacted on Monday at around 3:54 p.m. and an investigation is ongoing.

The OPP is urging everyone to be aware of their personal safety at all times and to always check their vehicle before entering.
