A stretch of the southbound lanes of Wellington Street in downtown London was shut down Wednesday because of a watermain break.
The City of London announced Wednesday morning that the break has forced the closure of the southbound lanes from Queens Avenue to Dundas Street.
SOUTHBOUND LANE CLOSURE: Due to a watermain break, Wellington Street has been closed to southbound traffic from Queens Avenue to Dundas Street. Motorists and cyclists will be diverted to Richmond Street for most of the day.

The watermain break also affected businesses in the area. It also caused officials with the London Public Library to announce the closure of the Central Branch for the day.
