Two men charged in Tiffany Drive home invasion

Charges have been laid against two men in connection with an east London home invasion that involved a large knife.

London police were called about two men forcing their way into a home on Tiffany Drive around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday. The caller indicated the men were armed with weapons.

Two men trying to leave the home were arrested without incident when officers arrived on scene. A large knife was found in an area where one of the suspects was arrested.

One person inside the home suffered minor injuries during the invasion, but did not require medical treatment.

Investigators have determined this was not a random incident, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Emmanuel Macuei, 26, of London, and Gordon Frank Eccles, 35, of no fixed address are charged with breaking and entering and committing assault with a weapon.

Macuei is additionally charged with wearing a disguise in the commission of an indictable offence. He was scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Tuesday.

Eccles makes his next court appearance on March 25.
