A 39-year-old London man is accused of assaulting a police officer during an arrest in relation to an east-end shooting.
London police were called to Florence Street and Kellogg Lane after shots rang out around 1:15 a.m. on Monday.
When officers arrived on scene one was attacked before the suspect took off. The male suspect was found nearby shortly after and a loaded gun was seized.
Craig Chapman of London is charged with assaulting a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a loaded restricted forearm without a licence, possession of a firearm with the serial number removed, and possession of a Schedule I substance.
Chapman made his first court appearance Monday afternoon where he was remanded in custody. He will be back in court on Thursday.
Police continue to investigate the shooting which saw a man taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He has since been treated and released.
