Kevin Hancock picked up four points in the London Knights' 8-1 domination of the North Bay Battalion Sunday at Budweiser Gardens.
London maintains its lead in the OHL Western Conference, improving its point total to 89, four points ahead of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, who beat the Sarnia Sting Sunday.
The Knights started off slowly, with Antonio Stranges scoring the first goal at 8:06 of the first period. North Bay answered back and tied the game when Justin Brazeau put in his 51st goal of the season on the power play, but London took the lead and kept it with Hancock scoring at 29 seconds remaining in the frame.
Evan Bouchard scored an insurance goal for the Knights early in the second period, but then London added three more within a three-minute span. Alex Formenton scored on the power play at 10:35. This was followed by goals from Josh Nelson and Liam Foudy, contributing to a 6-1 advantage for London at the second intermission.
Connor McMichael and Billy Moskal added to the scoring fun for London with a goal each in the third period.
Joseph Raaymakers stopped 22 out of 23 shots he faced between the pipes for the Knights. Christian Purboo had 43 saves in goal for North Bay.
The Knights welcome the Guelph Storm to the Gardens Tuesday night.
