Police spot coyote in London

Police are asking local residents to keep their eyes open after officers encountered a coyote in a London park.

The London Police Service said an officer spotted the animal in Mitches Park in the Upper Queen and Wilkins Street area. The coyote walked forward and came within 20 meters of the officers, showing no fear at the presence of a human.

The coyote did not appear sick or injured, and Animal Control has been notified of the incident, police said.

The public is urged to keep their pets on a leash and travel with caution in this area.

London police are asking everyone to keep a look out for similar animal activity. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (519) 661-5670.
