Those curious about what the inside of London's temporary overdose prevention site looks like can now get a glimpse through a new virtual tour.
The Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) launched the online tour of 186 King St. on its website Thursday afternoon. The aim of the virtual walk though is to allow Londoners a chance to gain a better perspective of the layout and the work being done there.
An image of each area of the site is accompanied by a brief description of what services are offered to clients in that particular spot. The tour includes a look at the intake space, aftercare room, and needle exchange program.
The site, which gives people a place to consume narcotics under the supervision of health professionals to avoid fatal overdoses, opened its doors last February. It shares the space with the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection, a spot already familiar to those who use injection drugs as it houses a needle exchange program.
More than 70 overdoses have been reversed by the site's staff since it opened.
