Police are renewing calls for information in the case of a London woman who vanished three years ago.
Shelley Joy Desrochers was last seen on January 2, 2016 near Lorne Avenue and English Street. The then-42-year-old was reported missing roughly three weeks later and every effort to locate her since then has been unsuccessful.
The investigation by London police included physical searches, forensic examinations of evidence, a look at Desrochers' digital footprint, banking and other records, and interviews with those who were in contact with her in the time leading up to her disappearance.
"The lack of contact with friends and family, along with information gathered during the course of the investigation, indicates a strong likelihood that [Desrochers] is deceased, however, investigators are continuing to exploring all possibilities," police said in a statement Wednesday.
Investigators working on the case have narrowed their focus on the hours leading up to her disappearance and what happened after she was last seen. Police previously said Desrochers was known to live a "high-risk" lifestyle.
In honour of Desrochers' 44th birthday last February 4, her family decorated a commemorative bench at Rayner Gardens on Springbank Drive.
Desrochers is described as a white female, 5’2” tall, 130 pounds with hazel eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she had long brown hair. She has a distinctive walking style that is described as being “pigeon-toed,” and has various visible tattoos which include a rose, a heart and a bluebird.
