OPP investigate fatal crash east of London

A section of Dundas Street was closed just east of London overnight as provincial police investigated a fatal head-on crash involving a transport truck.

Middlesex OPP said they were called to the scene on Dundas Street (Highway 2) just west of Hunt Road at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Their investigation reportedly showed that a westbound transport truck collided with an eastbound passenger vehicle.

Police said the male driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person inside the vehicle at the time and his name is being withheld while his family is being notified.

The male driver of the transport truck wasn't hurt.

Dundas Street was closed from Cobble Hills Road to 15th Line for several hours.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the Middlesex County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
