Two Woodstock police officers were injured while trying to make an arrest at a RIDE check early Friday.
Police had set up the roadside sobriety checkpoint in the area of Vansittart Avenue and Devonshire Avenue. Around 1 a.m., officers attempted to arrest a man suspected of impaired driving. According to police, the driver became combative, hurting two of the officers.
A 25-year-old Woodstock man is charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood, possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and resisting arrest.
He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on December 11.
The extent of the police officers' injuries was not released.
