Two London men are accused of taking over a northeast-end apartment to use as a "base to traffic drugs."
London police began investigating after being contacted Monday by the rightful tenants of a Mornington Ave.apartment, who reported being threatened several times and eventually forced out of the unit.
Officers with the guns and drugs section searched the apartment early Tuesday, seizing a loaded semi-automatic handgun, 9mm rounds, a prohibited overcapacity 9mm magazine, 12.5 grams of fentanyl, 19 grams of methamphetamine, 5 grams of magic mushrooms, and 67 Methylphenidate pills. The drugs are worth an estimated $8,870.
A 55-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from London, are charged with a number of weapon and drug related offences including possessing of a loaded firearm, and two counts each of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The 43-year-old is additionally charged with five counts of uttering threats. While the 55-year-old is also charged with pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and three counts of uttering threats.
Both men were scheduled to appear in London court Tuesday.
