UPDATE: Suspect identified in London shooting

London police have identified a potential suspect in an early morning shooting.

It happened shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday. London police and medical services responded to an address on Marconi Boulevard near Noel Avenue following a report of a shooting at that location.

Responders found an adult male with a gunshot wound. He is being treated in hospital and his injuries are not considered life-threatening. He has not been identified.

Police say that one man shot another after an argument in a nearby parking lot. The shooter fled the scene and the weapon has not been recovered.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, London police have identified a suspect as James Robert Borden, 28, of London. He has been charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, possession of a loaded firearm, careless use of a firearm, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence,  being an unlicensed person in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing no authority, and pointing a firearm.

Borden is described as black with a light complexion, 5' 6", weighing 140 pounds with long black hair in a ponytail.  Police say he is not in custody and a warrant is sought for his arrest. If you recognize him, do not approach him yourself. Call 911 immediately.

Police are still looking for anyone who may have witnessed the altercation.
