Londoners will have a chance to take in an unforgettable night of classic southern rock, when Lynyrd Skynyrd brings their farewell tour to Budweiser Gardens next year.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers announced Friday that their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour will run an additional eight Canadian shows in 2019, including a performance in London on March 5.
Skynyrd will be joined by the Randy Bachman Band for the Canadian leg of the tour.
Named one of Rolling Stone's 100 greatest band of all time, the iconic group has released 60 albums over their 40 year career and may be best known for hits such as the RIAA Platinum-certified song “Sweet Home Alabama” and "Free Bird." They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
The farewell tour began earlier this year and is expected to run for two-years. Other Canadian stops planned for 2019 include Ottawa, Windsor, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, and Abbotsford.
"Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, Bad Company, Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, Blackberry Smoke, and Blackfoot, will continue as special guests on the farewell tour," according to a news release issued by Budweiser Gardens.
