Shot Fired After Attempted Mugging

Police are looking for a suspect after a gun was fired following an attempted mugging in London's north end.

The London Police Service said on Tuesday shortly before 12:10am, a female victim was walking her dog in the area of North Centre Rd. near the east entrance of Masonville Mall, when she was approached by a man carrying a gun. The man pointed the gun at her and demanded her valuables. When the victim didn’t comply, the man took off and a gunshot was heard shortly after.

Officers responded and discovered evidence that a gun had been fired near where the attempted robbery took place.

The victim was not injured and no damage was found to have been caused by the gunshot.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, around 5'6" tall, with an average build, a pale complexion, a thick brown beard, and noticeably blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a burgundy or brown shirt with a graphic design on the front, baggy grey sweatpants, a black baseball cap, and black shoes. He was also carrying a worn black backpack.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
