Civic Holiday Brings A Few Closures

Beaches and campgrounds are sure to be packed as Londoners enjoy another summer long weekend.

Monday marks the Civic holiday, which is a day off for some but not for others as it isn't a statutory holiday. Nevertheless there are a few closures to keep in mind

Here is a list of what’s open and what’s closed in London on the Civic Holiday:

CLOSED:

Government offices (municipal, provincial, and federal) Canada Post (no mail delivery) Banks All London Public Library branches (including the Central Library) No garbage and recycling collection

OPEN:

White Oaks Mall (9:30am - 6pm), Masonville Place (10am-6pm), and Westmount Shopping Centre (9:30am-5:30pm) Select LCBO outlets Most Beer Stores – 11am - 6pm Labatt Retail Store - 9:30am -11pm Drug stores Grocery stores Costco Wholesale Fanshawe Pioneer Village Fanshawe Conservation Area (for campsite availability call 1-866-668-2267) City spray pads and wading pools Movie theatres London Ribfest in Victoria Park (final day) The LTC will be running on a Sunday schedule

Normal service returns on Tuesday.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
