London police have identified a second suspect in a shooting in east London last month.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Samater Ali, 28, on charges related to an incident on Oxford St. near Third St. around 4am on June 10. Police were called to the area after reports of shots being fired. When investigators arrived, they found evidence that several shots had been fired. However, no injuries were reported.
On June 28, police arrested Shakeem Shavonne Nicholas, 27 of London. He is charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, and possession of a loaded regulated firearm without authorization.
Ali faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
It's not the first time Ali has been accused of being involved in a shooting. He was charged in August of 2016 with aggravated assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life. Those charges related to a shooting near Richmond St. and John St. on April 29, 2016.
