Burton Cummings, April Wine To Rock Western Fair

There will be lots of rock and a little country at this year's Western Fair.

Fair officials announced the concert line-up for the 2018 edition of the ten-day event Monday.

Canadian rock band April Wine will be the main stage headliner at the Metroland Media Agriplex on September 10. The 11 time Juno nominated group has sold over 20-million albums worldwide since forming in 1969. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

Indie pop band Walk Off The Earth takes the stage September 11. Originally from Burlington, the band developed a loyal following on YouTube before breaking out with hits like "Fire in my Soul" and "Red Hands."

On September 12, Canadian country signer Aaron Pritchett will perform. The 2017 Juno nominee for Country Album of the Year puts on a high energy rock-meets-country show. His hits include "Hold My Beer", "Let's Get Rowdy", and "Lucky For Me"

Burton Cummings wraps up the four nights of concerts on September 13. The Canadian singer and songwriter is most widely known as the former lead singer and keyboardist for The Guess Who. His solo work has included such hits as "Stand Tall" and "My Own Way to Rock."

The four shows range in price from $30-$40 with tickets going on sale this Friday at www.westernfairdistrict.com/western-fair/buy-tickets. Entrance to the fair is included with the price of the concert ticket.

Open acts for the main stage concerts, performers for the I Love Local tent, and other fair highlights will be announced throughout the summer.

The 143rd edition of the fair runs September 7 until September 16.
