Kitten Thrown From Moving Car

Police are investigating after a small kitten was thrown from a moving vehicle in Simcoe.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday at around 4pm, the 6 to 8-week-old was tossed from a vehicle that was heading west on Queensway West between Elizabeth Rd. and North Main St.

The vehicle, which is described as an older model green car, was last seen heading south on Queen St.

A concerned motorist called the incident into police and immediately took the kitten to a local veterinarian where it was treated for its injuries. The animal has since been taken home by the motorist that stopped and helped.

According to a GoFundMe page that has been set up to help pay for the animal's veterinary bills, the animal suffered some road burn on its nose and it has torn muscles and ligaments in its front right leg.

The licence plate number has since been obtained by police and officers will be following up with the owner of the vehicle.

Anyone with further information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
