Teen Bus Pass Given Green Light

It will cost teenagers a little less to get around London starting this September.

During a meeting Tuesday evening, London City Council voted to accept a bylaw that approves an agreement with the London Transit Commission (LTC) to establish a Youth Bus Pass.  The bylaw will allow the LTC to offer discounted passes to anyone between the ages of 13 and 17.

Bus passes that cost adults $81 per month, will be reduced to $52 for London's youth.

The city will share the price tag for the program with the London Transit Commission, however, the amount London pays will decrease as more bus passes are sold.

The discounted youth bus passes, which will be available to youth starting on September 1, were first discussed by council during budget deliberations back in the fall of 2017.
